The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.

It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger objects like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping purposes, you will need to pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.

The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and effectively. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

Another noteworthy feature is the customizable options available via apps.  budget robot vacuum  allows you to alter the amount of suction and select between a back-andforth, or a more random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

It's expensive, but has many smart features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two modules, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping unit that has microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.

Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate map of your floorplan, which it uses to create a route when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to protect certain areas of your home from being cleaned with mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture some of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots have struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some nice jingles to inform you that it was beginning and working towards its goal.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to change out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't hold multiple maps, which could be a pain for homes with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its massive dock, which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.

The base has a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't too bad except for the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
